Although the rapidly urbanizing Dhaka city is nothing but a concrete jungle that cries for its diminishing green landscape. There is no denying the fact that open green spaces help relieve stress and promote better living. People of Dhaka city always take a moment to grasp whatever green/ open space they come across and/or hold on to, for positive vibes to sink in.
So when we got the opportunity to work on a plot overlooking the airport runway, we instantly decided to keep the floor plan as open as possible with as much view of the uninterrupted open green space ahead. Moreover, knowing our client is a pilot we wanted to build a space that connects his passion (profession) and his residence, with openings engineered to promote views of the runway and its daily hustle of flights, from almost all corners of the house.
End product is a Quadruplex with a transparent core facing the runway and the common facilities placed on the top floor, under a skylight section. Whilst the elevation showcasing fair face and mercury glass, with french style full height bi-fold doors.
